Watford is a town situated in the county of Hertfordshire, situated within the M25 to the north-west of central London. Watford has a resident population of around 80,000 people, but is surrounded by other densely populated areas. The working day population is closer to 410,000 due to the town’s hosting of the regional shopping centre and major employment centres. An estimated population of 5.1m lives within a 30 minute drive of Watford.

One of the region’s main centres the town boasts excellent rail links to the midlands, the north and London, and is well served by major motorway networks as well as London Underground services. The town is also close to Heathrow and Luton airports.

With its regional shopping centre - The Harlequin - at its heart, Watford is also home to major retailers and is the focus of great activity during an evening, as its High Street is transformed into a major nightspot for those wishing to revel in its numerous bars, restaurants and clubs.

Watford is a thriving commercial centre and is home to a high concentration of major national and multi-nationals companies’ head quarters.

The town also houses two professional sports teams, Watford Football Club, who play in the Championship, but who have also in recent years featured in the world-renowned Premier League, and Saracens Rugby Football Club, who play in the top tier of the nation’s rugby leagues. Both play at Vicarage Road Stadium, adjacent to the current Watford General Hospital.
